Practical Session: Painting with Light – 21 February 2025

This was an evening where members could experiment with varying lighting effects by making suitable adjustments to exposure settings and times.

Our creative photography enthusiast, David Faulkes, supplied a light pen and multi-coloured light wand, together with a string of jewel lights plus suitable props. In the main hall, the light pen was used to “draw” shapes with members taking turns to work with the light whilst others took photos. There was also a table top set up with glass objects and jewel lights.

In a separate room, a mannequin was used, around which light patterns and shapes were created by one person, using the light wand, whilst others took their photos, with very colourful results.

A very interesting and enjoyable evening involving much discussion and exchange of help and advice. Thanks to David for arranging the evening and even supplying cake!
