This was the 5th annual Battle with Sidmouth and hosted, this year, at Honiton. As usual, the regular print categories were: Landscape, Mono, Portrait, Nature and Creative (2 entries each from each club). For 2026, the set DPI subjects were: Forgotten, Fungi, In The Middle, Periodic Table and Wheels (1 entry each from each club). In addition, there were 15 Open DPI entries from each club.
We were pleased to welcome John Baker as judge, who critiqued all images and scored each out of ten. Total scores finished at Honiton 242 and Sidmouth 285, meaning Sidmouth, once again, won the Horseshoe Trophy. Whilst David Faulkes obtained a 2nd place in the Mono print category for “Are You In There Deborah?”, all other 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were taken by Sidmouth. Honiton received two maximum scores of 10 – one for David Faulkes’ mono print, and for Andy McGarty’s portrait print “Have You Seen The Light?”.
Congratulations to Sidmouth and thanks to all who entered and to John Baker for judging. Also a special thanks to Chairman, Leslie, for providing the cream teas!
