We were very pleased to welcome Rose Atkinson to give us a presentation on Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), also referred to as “The Art of Blur”.
For her projected presentation, Rose showed examples of ICM by photographers who had specialised in this genre, such as Ernst Haas and Erik Malm, together with work by other inspirational photographers. As an accomplished ICM photographer herself, Rose also showed us examples of her own work, giving useful background information on how or why the image was achieved.
The general techniques to be followed were also provided, such using manual mode, slow shutter speeds low ISO setting, small aperture etc.
Rose also brought with her a number of her prints, including her panel submission of ICM images of Wells Cathedral for her ARPS.
