This was our first competition of the season, the first to be held using Zoom and the first to be judged by club members as we were unable to arrange for an external judge for this particular event. The set subject was “Landscape”, together with an Open section. The images had been made available to members beforehand, using our website’s facilities, together with a method for scoring them.
25 Landscape images were presented first, together with scores. Members had the opportunity to discuss and comment on the images during the presentation. The winner of this section was Lycia Moore with her wonderful image entitled “Upon A Woodland Walk”. After a short break, this was followed by 28 Open images of a wide range of subjects, using the same procedure, and the winner of this section was Andy McGarty with his stunning portrait of “Natalie”.
This method of judging proved to work very well, was popular with members and could well be used again whilst we rely on Zoom for our meetings.
